SUMMARY:Working Therapeutically With Clients : It's All About the Money\, It's Nothing About The Money - in person
DESCRIPTION:This training will give participants an opportunity to examine their relationship to money and\napply that knowledge to their treatment protocol. Arlene Miller’s experience working with a\nwide variety of addicted clients will be meshed with her many years of treating individuals\,\ncouples and families in a private practice mental health setting. The workshop will be dialectic\,\npractical and experiential. She has been a strong advocate for the discussion of money matters\nwith all clients in various settings: this presentation teaches us why and how to do that.\nAt the end of the training participants will be able to examine and develop self-awareness\nabout their own relationship to money and identify how that reflects on their clinical\ninteractions with clients. They will be able to identify and teach the key elements of a healthy\nrelationship to money. Also included will be strategies for raising children with competent\nmoney management skills. \nArlene Miller\, LCSW\, was initially trained as a community mental health counselor and\ncompleted a Gestalt training program as well as advanced training in marriage and family\ntherapy. Over time she completed certifications as a substance abuse and gambling counselor.\nShe taught group therapy at St. Louis Community College. Arlene has presented basic and\nadvanced gambling and addiction training to numerous agencies\, organizations\, schools\,\ncongregations and professionals in various settings. \nMonday\, January 19\, 2026 \n9 a.m. to 11 a.m. \nSunset Hills Community Center \n3915 S.
