Event Description: A review of the top 5 ethical pitfalls in mental health and how to avoid them.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Clinicians will learn how to identify when ethical issues become present in their practice.
  2. Clinicians will learn how to utilize a decision-making model to navigate ethical dilemmas.
  3. Clinicians will learn how to be proactive in avoiding situations which may bring ethics into question.

 

Instructor bio: James has been a practicing clinician for 6 years. He acquired his Master’s in Education from UMSL and has worked as a suicide clinician for Behavioral Health Response. James is the clinical director of Sonder Counseling and teaches as an adjunct professor. James has taught courses on prevention at UMSL and has done trainings on suicide assessment, prevention, and intervention for several non-profits in the St. Louis area. James also works as a lawyer and managing partner for a small firm in Clayton.
