Improving marriages and relationships is a key part of my practice. I try to help couples understand the behaviors that contribute to their dissatisfaction, and then learn better ways of interacting. Our session is only the beginning: I assign tasks and readings to do at home to reinforce new behaviors. Through this approach I try to offer hope that couples can revitalize their relationship and begin to cherish each other again.
But divorce is sometimes inevitable, and I also specialize in helping couples divorce in the healthiest way possible, to minimize the damage to children and families.
The therapy I offer for individuals focuses on many issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, low self-esteem, ADHD, and parenting challenges. My years as a medical and psychiatric social worker have provided a solid foundation for addressing mental health issues. I also use EMDR to help clients move beyond traumas that may be impacting their lives.
